Dr. Makiura was promoted as a tenured associate professor.
Now, Makiura-lab freshly started as a Hybrid Nanomaterials Laboratory in Department of Materials Science, Graduate School of Engineering.

On 31 October 2014, our organization, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Research Center will have “Lab introduction event” during the period of university festival “Shirasagi-sai”.
Mr. Kohei Tsuchiyama, who conducted his research project in Makiura lab and started working for a company from April 2013, will give a talk about how his laboratory life was, advices for job hunting and present company work. We will also have a tea party and a lab tour.

Our master course student, Junpei Yao, gave a research presentation in English at “Workshop on synthesis and applications of novel functional porous materials” organized by Takahashi lab in Dept. of Materials Science.
PhD students, Kenji Okada and Takashi Toyao, nicely planned and set up the workshop.
We enjoyed both the fruitful research discussion and the following party with hand made Tako-yaki & Okonomi-yaki!

Dr. Makiura gave a presentation at MOF2014 – 4th International Conference on Metal-Organic Frameworks & Open Framework Compounds held in Kobe.

An original paper “Towards Rational Modulation of In-Plane Molecular Arrangements in Metal–Organic Framework Nanosheets” published in ChemPlusChem is now made for Open Access!

An original paper “Towards Rational Modulation of In-Plane Molecular Arrangements in Metal–Organic Framework Nanosheets” published in ChemPlusChem was selected as Early Career Series.

An original full paper entitled “Towards Rational Modulation of In-Plane Molecular Arrangements in Metal–Organic Framework Nanosheets” was published online in ChemPlusChem (Wiley).
The work has been mainly conducted by a former master student in our laboratory, Ryo Usui, as his postgraduate project.
It has not been Open Access. Please feel free to contact us for a reprint.

An original paper entitled “ Porphyrin-based Coordination Polymer Composed of Layered Pillarless Two-dimensional Networks” was published in Chemistry Letters.
The results were derived from a collaborative works with Durham University in UK where a former master student in our laboratory, Ryo Usui, visited for the research.
